Dear Gossips,
Jonny Buckland and Chris Martin from Coldplay stopped by eTalk yesterday for a 45 minute interview with Ben Mulroney and Tanya Kim that aired last night on the show prior to their 2nd performance in Toronto. Have heard from many of you who went to the first…and were thrilled.
Yesterday they also did not disappoint. Particularly noteworthy: Chris Martin spent a very healthy amount of time signing autographs after appearing on camera. Sadly, many of his contemporaries would NOT have done the same. Chris however seemed to be in excellent spirits. And he also genuinely appreciated the fanfare.
Another cute moment: if you watched the show, you’ll recall Tanya took a fan question at one point – a young man stood up to ask about Brian Eno and then seized the moment for his band: Can my band open for you tonight?
What you didn’t see on tv was that Jonny and Chris made sure that the intrepid aspiring musician was introduced to Coldplay’s tour manager afterwards. He was over the moon… and they were trying to work something out.

Coldplay performed on The Today Show this morning… here’s Chris Martin showing off a thick head of hair. Good hair. Apple and Moses will grow up with good hair too. As for his eyes… time to play the funnest game: Photo Assumption! When we make like the tabloids and come to conclusions on the basis of a photograph! Your boyfriend George Stroumboulopoulos spends an exclusive hour with Coldplay tonight on The Hour. George gets a tour through their “bakery” with a very relaxed, very chill Chris Martin who keeps wearing the same coat – apparently it’s his signature coat. Speaking of Chris, have you seen the “interview” with Ricky Gervais? Not the one from Extras, but the clip that was posted on Ricky’s site a while ago, both of them giggling their balls off. I like the part when he says “the Chinese don’t know what they’re doing”. Hee. See below.

Perhaps it wasn’t sad smut for my Gwynnie after all! Following her hospitalisation last month, initial information centred around a heartbreaking loss. The “official” explanation from her camp, via friend Mario Batali, was a gastrointestinal problem that was quickly solved. However, am now hearing from new sources that her people are trying to rearrange her schedule through the spring, including shortening her shooting days and reworking her planned trip with Mario on their food tour to lighten her load given her commitments prior to the Iron Man release … because she’s expecting her third?!?
